Description

In 1978, the house launched its first fragrance with Nino Cerruti pour Homme. This was followed by numerous other fragrances for both men and women, such as Fair Play in 1985, Cerruti 1881 pour Homme in 1990, Cerruti Image in 1998 and l'Essence de Cerruti in 2008. In August 2006, Cerruti was finally sold to American private equity firm MatlinPatterson. MatlinPatterson intended to revitalize the Cerruti brand by taking on Nicolas Andreas Taralis, a former designer with Dior, who also owned his signature fashion label Homme. He was appointed creative director in the summer of the same year. Mr. Cerruti was an early adopter of unisex dressing, though he loathed the term as being too anatomical. Couple-dressing was his preferred phrase, and in the late 1960s his Paris boutique on the Place de La Madeleine — called Cerruti 1881 in homage to the year his family’s firm was founded — sold his and hers velvet pantsuits. (He had introduced a women’s wear line in 1968.) Cerruti also used the power of communication in sports and its champions, dressed players of different sports: Image Woman is one of the most popular fragrances produced by the brand Cerruti and a perennial favourite. An eau de toilette like this one is a clever choice for a woman who is seeking something with less sillage because this type of fragrance has a lower percentage of essential oils, generally between 5% - 15%. Image Woman has been available since 2000 and belongs to the renowned collection Cerruti Image. Ideal Summer Scent

In 1881, the grandfather of Nino Cerruti founded the textile mill Lanificio Fratelli Cerruti. Located in Biella ( Piemonte, Italy), the water in the region is put to use to wash and treat the wool, which is imported principally from Australia and South Africa, so as to develop flannel, tweeds, cashmere, and butter muslin. Nino Cerruti took over the family business after his father's death in 1950. [3] Cerruti fabrics are still produced in the same workshops.Nino Cerruti created exclusive clothes for films and actors, since he first dressed French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo in 1965. [10] Some of his contributions include: Menkes, Suzy; Tribune, International Herald (1994-04-26). "Cerruti's A-List:Here's Hollywood". The New York Times. ISSN 0362-4331 . Retrieved 2020-01-16.

Right. Grapefruit and pepper, it smells a bit masculine at first. Mint is there right away, too. Pleasant. A bit acerbic, fresh and herbal, neither aquatic-fresh nor like tooth paste or even chewing gum, but herbaceous. Cerruti realised his firm could be its own best customer if it made clothes from its cloth. At first he collaborated with tailors to show the cloth’s potential; to project a stylish image across Italy, he commissioned four short plays from famous writers, put on in Milan, Turin, Rome and far south in Naples, and designed the costumes himself. As of 6 May 2021, Cerruti 1881 has 84 stores in 34 cities in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. [9]Nino Cerruti was born on Sept. 25, 1930, in Biella to Silvio and Silvia (Tomassini) Cerruti. He is survived by his longtime companion, Sibylla Jahr; a son, Julian; a daughter, Silvia; his brothers Alberto and Attilio; and two grandsons. His marriages to Diana Gates and Chantal Dumont ended in divorce. This is a citrus woody scent that could pass for a unisex fragrance. Signature scent worthy for the right wearer. Possibly second skin for the right chemistry. Very wearable in warm weather, even with a heavy hand. Because Cerruti commanded his Italian manufacturing base all the way to its primary imports of Australian wool and Mongolian cashmere, he was less dependent than most designers on couture catwalk publicity to promote perfume sales and other revenue-generators. The business diversified – jeans, some accessories, reshapings for markets in Asia – but unlike many French houses it was never absorbed into a luxury conglomerate company in exchange for promised infusions of capital. Image seems to have a top and a bottom, no middle. On the top I get fresh green, grapefruit and pepper -- it can be a bit sharp but it's do-able. After 10-15 minutes it mellows beautifully. The mint & other notes in the middle do not present to me in a way I can recognize, and it's very subdued at this stage. The woody base is there, but not strong or strikingly prominent. I'm learning to recognize the birch & leather. What stars wore off-screen they requested for their on-screen wardrobes, including Richard Gere in Pretty Woman (1990), Harrison Ford in Clear and Present Danger (1994), Bruce Willis in Hudson Hawk (1991), Clint Eastwood in In the Line of Fire (1993), and Cerruti’s “muse” Kathleen Turner as private eye VI Warshawski (1991). A Cerruti suit’s drape could conceal any calibre of handgun with a few per cent of stretch Lycra added to the fibre mix.

If you're like me and are frequently nauseated by florals and sugary perfumes, you might give this one a try. I would also recommend this to someone who likes sharp citrus & wants to be introduced to leather slowly and safely. The target market is professional women, and it is perfect for the office. Also, a great leather for the summer.Yesterday, I wore and wrote a review on Image's younger sibling, Cerruti Pour Homme. Today, Image was next in my rotation of "fragrance of the day"... Image is a very pleasant scent that is fresh, clean, and a blend of fruit and floral notes. Image is easy on the nose and offers great day and Summer flexibility/versatility without being overbearing or offensive to some. It is that "fresh showered" scent that is safe for the office... I will add that given the fruity and floral notes, while masculine, this fragrance could easily be worn (and worn with confidence) by females. Now the rest of the story... Image projects well during the first hour and then settles close to the skin. With my "body chemistry", following four hours of wear in an office-type setting, the fragrance/scent is hardly noticeable. Pity - out of the bottle it is a good fragrance.
